Step 3: Melted down and molded

Next, the container I was in was dumped into the hot oven.  The temperatures in the oven were very hot which made me melt very quickly.  I turned from and solid to a liquid like substance.  After being baked in the oven, I was dumped into a mold.  A machine then came down and pressed down on the mold and made it so that the plastic took the shape of the mold.  Then the mold was cooled so that the plastic hardened.  After that the mold was released from me, I was then taken to a different location in the building.  Then a label was put on me and I was filled with a substance such as water or laundry detergent.  Now I am ready to be sold and used again.  That is how the recycling process of plastic works.

Step 2: Seperation based on size, shape, thickness, and color

Next, I was taken from the pile of plastic and taken into a building where I was seperated based on what thickness, size, shape, and color I was.  Then, I was sent through a machine and was ground down into smaller pieces and dumped back out into a container.   The other pieces of plastic in the container where the same color but were not the exact same size.  After, a machine came over and lifted up the container I was in and took it to a different location in the the building and left it there.  Shortly after, I heard a machine approaching the container I was in.  Then, the container was lifted up by the machine and taken over to another spot in the building where the oven was located.

Step 1: Plastic Recycling

I was just taken off a table and thrown into a recycling can.  I stayed in the recycling can for about a day and then I was taken out to a larger recycling can and dumped into there where I saw many other plastic materials that were similar to me.  Two days went by and then all of the plastic in the recycling can was taken out to the street.  I was sitting there for about an hour and then I heard a big truck come up along side the recycling can.  I heard people come over to it and open the lid and then the whole can was tipped over and dumped out into a truck where there was a lot of plastic materials.  I was in the truck for about an hour and then I was taken to a plant where i was dumped in to a huge pile thst consist of plastic materials.
